EREIM Team Participates in High-Profile Conference on Alternative Financing in Belgrade

The EREIM team recently took part in the highly anticipated conference “Does Savings in Banks Have an Alternative?” held on November 4th in Belgrade. Organized by the Deposit Insurance Agency, the Association of Serbian Banks, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the event focused on exploring alternatives to savings in banks and the importance of greater financial literacy among both businesses and the public.
Mr. Marko Jankovic, President of the Security Commission of the Republic of Serbia pointed out the importance of diversification of savings, with the emphasis on opportunities offered by the capital market as a suitable alternative and generally more profitable option to bank savings, pointing out the fund industry reached around EUR 1.5 billion in 2024.
Mr. Ognjen Popovic, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Serbia highlighted the role of the regulatory and tax framework in improving alternative investment opportunities in Serbia which would help fostering economic growth.
